Create a Healthy Exercise Plan

Weight loss exercise does not have to be tedious and boring in order to be effective. There are many choices when it comes to finding a healthy exercise plan that works for you.

Incorporate exercise and activity based upon your interests, fitness level and time available for working out. Fitness will actually become fun, especially when you begin to lose weight and can measure the success of your hard work.

Once you decide what weight loss exercise best suits you and your lifestyle, you will look forward to the time you spend working out and being active once again.

Make the Time

If the main obstacle to your regular exercise routine is lack of time, try to think of it as just another element in the personal routine you have already.

You wouldn't skip a shower or brushing your teeth because you don't have time. Change the way you think of exercise and make it a mandatory part of your day.

You don't have to start with an hour long session at the gym. Begin a regular routine, such as doing some stretching and movement for ten minutes when you get out of bed in the morning. If mornings don't work, make movement the last part of your day before going to sleep.

Feel the Difference

When exercise and movement become a natural part of your day, you will feel the difference in your overall health. You will have more energy and enthusiasm. Your increased metabolism will start to work with you in losing weight. Your fat burners will be fired up and ready to go!

Granted, if you already feel bad about yourself because of excess weight and previous unsuccessful efforts to become fit, it isn't easy to get revved up to get moving. The trick is to start slow and build up to a level that is comfortable and fits into your everyday life.

The more weight you have to lose, the harder it is to view exercising as anything but boring and tedious. This will change (yes, it really will!) when you are ready to commit to a serious lifestyle change that includes regular weight loss exercise that is fun and strengthens your health and fitness level.

Starting from Scratch?

If you are a sedentary person and starting from square one, it is very important to
start slow and work up to a level you can easily maintain.

To begin, chose just one activity you will
commit to every day for 20 minutes. It is okay to do 10 minutes twice per day if that helps you get started.

You often hear that walking is the best workout for losing weight. Walking is a wonderful weight loss exercise that you can do almost any place and any time. It is great for cardio and works nearly all the muscles in your body. Walking can be a nurturing activity when done outdoors on a beach or in a peaceful park.

Another great exercise for losing weight is stretching or yoga. If you are out of shape, you may think yoga is only for toned and fit bodies, but this is not true. There are many stretches and positions that are designed for larger bodies. Take some time and check it out. You'll be glad you did!

If you're in good shape and would like an intense cardio exercise, running is a great way to burn calories and get your body moving and working out. If you're an avid walker, maybe its time to bump it up a notch and give running for weight loss a try. Many pros believe that running to lose weight is the best exercise to take off the pounds.

The point is, just start! If you "just don't feel like it", try something else. For example if you commit to walking for 10 minutes twice per day and one day you find yourself dreading it, that is an obvious sign that you need to switch to something else for now.

Try Different Things

Turn on some music and dance for 10 minutes,or put on a yoga or aerobics dvd (there are MANY excellent ones for every size person). Even gardening and housecleaning count. Anything that keeps you from sitting will work in the beginning to get you started.

If you are already somewhat active and want to lose some weight and increase your fitness level, t is key to like taking the extra time you spend exercising. You might accomplish this if you mix it up a bit and try different workouts on different days. If you walk on a regular basis, you could add something like swimming or yoga a couple times a week. Boredom is disastrous to regular, effective exercise.

The point here is to love and have fun with experimenting and choosing your favorite activities. It may take awhile figure out what weight loss exercise works for you, but it is worth it to find the right mix of movement and exercise that will help you on your journey to wellness and lasting weight loss.
